So I have been MIA from my blog........let me see if I can explain.

First, that full time job.......yeah really demands a lot!!!!

Second, the new scrapbook store.......my second home :)

Third, husband has been ill but seems to be headed back to a good place!!!!!!!

In the meantime, I have been doing a lot of cooking and scrapin' to, at least, meet my goal for each month for the whole year of 2008!

September......means to me. First, it is the beginning of the fall season. Oh wonderful Fall, with all the beauty of the changing colors, the comfort of the chill in the air, and back to school. I love taking pictures in the fall. The trees are always so pretty, and pumpkin patches.........how fun! I will be getting my grandson and granddaughters back to school pics, from Iowa, soon. I can't wait to scrap that. OK so I am off to take more fall pics. Layouts on there way!!!

I know that it takes me a little while to get back to my blog but we all know what I am doing.....right SCRAPBOOKING!

I went to a crop on Friday and Saturday and had a blast! You put 15 to 20 women in a room together and it just gets KRAZY.....guess that is where Phylliss got the name for the store. Krazy Keations was rockin' Friday night. My friend, Bren was puttin' on the show. Singin' and dancin'! There was a ton more of this kind of stuff goin' on.

Seems like forever since my last post. Well we all know it has not been THAT long! My darling hubby had an attack on his lung (it just collasped). Simple procedures never turn out SIMPLE for him (not by his own fault). What was suppose to be hopital for 3 days and back to work in 7-10 days, ended up being 2 weeks in the hospital and we don't have a clue about work. But I have him here with me and THAT is the most important thing!!!!

Spring is such a beautiful time of year. All the flowers start blooming, as well as the trees and grass. Seems to start out all green and then all of the sudden there is color everywhere. Iris is a traditional spring flower that grows well in all areas. I love to see those pretty purple flowers open up in my garden. That is my "Spring is here" welcome. Things are moving too fast

Just when I think I have "got it" on the techy stuff......IT ALL CHANGES. I was doing just fine with my old blog, even if I am the only one who reads it with the exceptions of my dearest friends Steffany and Sophia. Boom, now I had to change to the new version, with a google account. OK sounds pretty simple, remember who is typing this. Well now I get confused when I sign in because I have to use my email addy, oh yeah, I forgot. Then my password is slightly different. Just one more thing to screw me up. LOL

My blog was not the only thing that just had to go and change. Windows Explorer had to go graduate to another point. OK just a few changes, but the meskin was used to the old way. So I hear from a distance, "What happened to my favorites!!!". Well dear they left the star but took away the word. Sorry hun. Of course my friend Sophia, her sweety could not find his "yah-hoo". So I guess I am not alone on this one.

Now my IM says got to update. OK I fell for it! and BOOM my computer goes crazy. I guess I will never stay updated. Try as I might!!!

Ok, now that fall has come and gone...and so are the pretty leaves, winter has decided to arrive! Today was the first snow! Oh pretty! Yeah right, if you can sit inside and look out, maybe. But some of us had to go to work because..........we owe, we owe so off to work we go! I will say this, the snow brought with it COLD tempatures!!! I know, it is all in a season. Can you tell winter is NOT my favorite.
But you all know I had to get my camera out and snap a few pics. Which I had on this post but they were too big. I resized them and tried to repost them but that would just be too simple. Didn't work! Maybe I will try another post. Yay!

November...... Thanksgiving and deep in the heart of FALL!!! I love all the colors of fall from the pumpkins to the changing leaves. I love the the way the scarecrow just sits around looking CUTE! Would be nice to be a scarecrow but a scarecrow I am not! I am a scrapbooker...... so here is my fall LO. :)

Well it has been a while since my last post but I'm back here today!
The weather is finally getting cooler. It takes so long for fall to finally get to Texas! Fall is a great time of year. There is so many things going on. To start with, the county fair is always my favorite. That, to me, starts the fall season. Yes, we were able to go to the fair!!! Thought we were going to have to skip it this year but the good Lord was there to make it happen. Had a great time!! We love the food at the fair. We make it a yearly event, just to stuff ourselves with all that junk we don't eat all year! And we did!

Halloween is quickly approaching! Fun, fun, fun! Love to see all the party pics and get a few of my own. The bunko group had a costume party! I was not able to attend but the pics tell me everything I missed.

Thanksgiving will be next on the list. Oh goodie, more food! LOL

OK that is quite a bit of chatting for me. I will close with a fall pic I took just the other day and yes it is in Abilene. I just have to search harder than my midwest friends.

Things are finally looking up for us. My job is still going good. I have a few side jobs I enjoy doing and .............
LEO is well and working!!!!!!! He is working at Tige Boats, and he really likes the job. Maybe now things can get back to some kind of order. We are very thankful for our blessing and I wanted to share!!!

Meet Cher

I would like to introduce you to "Cher". This is our one and only fish, that being Cher's decision. Cher was given to me by my dear friend Tammie. She moved to the far northern part of the US and Cher would not have survived the trip. Cher is spoiled, from his, yes I said his, previous owner and now by me. He has re-arranged the entire tank to suit him. There was gravel on the bottom until Cher decided he did not want it there. LOL He was already named when I acquired him so I saw no reason to change his name. If singers can sing about "A boy named Sue' then I can have a male fish named "Cher". Cher is a Cichlid.

I have had some changes, recently. I am no longer working at the cookie factory! Woo Hoo. The stress factor got out of control and in order to keep my sanity I chose to quit. I do plan on getting another 2nd job but I am going to look for something that will be easier on me and with a few less hours. The 16 & 17 hours days were catching up with me. I had been told by more than one person that I had a change in personality, not to the good. This was something I did not want to have happen. I have had a few days off now and I believe I am pretty much back to normal. What ever that is!

DH is still struggling with his situation. He has not been released to go back to work and being under house arrest, more or less, is taking a toll on him. He is strong and may bend a little but I am sure that it won't break him. We are very hopeful for next week to the the week we have been waiting for. Prayers are welcome!

The colors of summer are really coming out. I love to sit in the yard in the early morning and evening. This is the view I have when I go outside. The gladiolas have awsome colors and pretty, large blooms. Even though orange is not my favorite color I can't help but love the color I see in these flowers.

Drake is really growing up. This is his preschool picture. As his mom was getting him ready for his picture day at school, she was putting on his suit and tie, he said to her "Hey I am Dr. Drake". The only person he could recall seeing dressed that way was his pediatrician. So Dana and I assume that anytime he sees someone in a suit and tie he thinks they must be a Dr.

Spring to summer

Well the bluebonnets have come and gone for another year. They were beautiful, as always. The iris and dafodils have also had their season. Now it is time for the summer plant to take the stage. The geraniums in my garden are blooming with bright red flowers. The lantana is in full bloom and the hisbiscus and gladiolas are just starting to bloom. Every morning and every night I sit in the yard and wonder at the show of colors.

9th grade graduation

The Book of Me project has really turned out to be a whole lot of fun. I was not sure if I would be able to get enough pictures but my mom sent me a bunch of pictures this week. It was so strange to look at these pictures. The one in this post is from my 9th grade graduation! It really brought back some great memories of my teenage days. If I had not seen the picture the memory would not have surfaced. I really had forgotten a lot. I started remembering the days at Evans Jr High, in Ottumwa. The friends I had at that time of my life just came back to me so clear. Becky, Beth, Fonda, Marianne.... man the good times we had. I will be making a page for the book with this picture and plan to do some major journaling.

Working 2 full time jobs

Well it is offical. I am now currently employed full time at two jobs. My primary job is still at the center. My second job is at Fehr Foods or as we know it around here "the cookie factory." My first job is from 7a-3p on any given day because that schedule changes week to week. My second job is 3p-11p Mon-Fri. So sometimes I will work both jobs in the same day and other time I will work one or the other. Of course, I can not be in two places at the same time so Fehr Foods is aware that I will be late but will go directly from one job to the other so hopefully not too late. I guess we will just see how things work out. The sad part is that I am no longer able to do some things I have been doing. BookClub, Bunko and crops are all on hold. Heck I might as well be moving away like my dear friend Tammie. Ladies I will stay in touch via the yahoo site and this blog. See ya all soon as I can.

After starting a new diet I altered my drive to work to avoid passing my favorite bakery. I accidentally drove by the bakery this morning and as I approached, there in the window were a host of goodies. I felt this was no accident, so I prayed ... "Lord, it's up to you, if you want me to have any of those delicious goodies, create a parking place for me directly in front of the bakery." And sure enough, on the eighth time around the block, there it was! God is so Good!"

Why do I scrapbook?

If I had to answer the question "Why do I scrapbook?" I would say it is because I enjoy finding a home for a picture or pictures. Pictures in a photo album seem to get lost. It is hard to keep interested in a photo album. I think this is because the photos mean more to the person who took them then the person looking at the album. My idea of scrapbooking is to take a picture and put on a page with something to surround that picture and make it "pop" off the page. Making a picture pop off the page is a very common scrapbooking term. So I would say I enjoy making pages for pictures and that when I finish a page I feel good about the page and the picture. Most of the time what is on the page tells the story of the picture. If you need to tell more then you "journal" which I am not too good at.

Clinton St. was the home I lived in as a baby until I started school. I remember standing, looking out the front screen door at the front yard and street while my mom ironed clothes in the living room. I remember her using the coke bottle with the cork with the holes to sprinkle the clothes. Captain Kangaroo was on the TV.

May Challenge

Here are my entries for the May Challenge for the ScrapSwapperTX group. I used 5 photos, 5 pattern papers, 36 journaled words, 2 photo anchors, 4 charms, 3 brown photo mats and my paper was torn, scraped, wrinkled and sanded. There it is using most the challenged tecniques and points for some extras. Woo Hoo!

HOG Rally

What a great thing for Abilene to host the HOG Rally. Thousands of motorcycles in town. It was really cool to hear and see those bikes for the last couple of days. A lot of these people road their bikes a long way to be here and I just want to say that I have enjoyed the show.
